Five things that make me happy!

by insider. on July 22, 2009

Two of my favourite girls; Sam and Gabbi have tagged me — do make sure you sneak pass their blogs and say hello. Here are my five things that make me happy!

Et Psst if you click on the images, you get a very short photo description…

B&W photography. If I wasn’t in the fashion business, I could see myself working in a small gallery as an art curator. I mean, who can resist Bruce Davidson and Hedi Slimane…?

Or perhaps in the film industry. I love watching films based on true stories and real people as much as I like working on my own projects. One day I might show you something…

Victoria, Elin, Anna and Rebecca. These beautiful girls mean the world to me and over the years they’ve become like family. It’s not often the five of us are all together but when we are, it’s just magic!

Dancing. As you can see, my two left feet can’t keep up with a partner (or two), but they do know how to work the dancefloor on their own!

And finally. Matchboxes. I started collecting matchboxes years and years ago as a little memory from all new cities (and bars) I’d visited. But now I just keep them for their great looks!

I should probably have added a note on underwear too (because I do love it) but that’d been too obvious, lol. Next on the tag are Sassy, Daniel J, Diane and Anika if they fancy it!

I am a sucker for films and especially black and white or old coloured French cinema.

Alain Delon, my idol, well — sort of…

Love the pics of your friends, very real!

OOO, I love that movie! My favorite part is the conversation between Iggy Pop and Tom Waits, so uncomfortable, haha.
I love all of your photos today. Who are the guys grabbing at your legs?

Thanks so much for the tag!! My 5 favorite things, hmmmm. Tomorrow, tomorrow. xo

Black and white photography? Art curator? Now you’re just speaking my language :)

And I’d love to see some of your work as well.

p.s. I think a collection of matchboxes is cute! Can we see a pic of them some day?

Thank you so much for thinking of me, muchly honoured. I will def do the tag.

    Thanks bella!

Diane — the two boys grabbing my legs are Kalle and Kristian. that picture was taken last year in London during fashion week : )
    Anika — lets hope so!
Drollgirl — ah, that’s so sweet!

    vilken fin liten tandsticks ask!

I too have a Matchbox collection. There’s something so sultry about collecting matchboxes — perhaps because they are so often acquired at smoky bars with lounge singers and scruffy boys. :)

  • http://dapperkid.blogspot.com dapper kid

Black and white photography shall always have that artistic allure. It is purely a matter of light and exposure, the rawest form of photography…and I suppose the truest image of emotion. That first photograph by Hedi is amazing!

Haha and dancing is always fun, even if you have two left feet! Just go crazy once in a while, and see how the world becomes a better place :)

And oh my, that matchbox really is beautiful. What a fascinating object to collect, it really would be a world of matchboxes, each with a story and memory to tell. How wonderful.

I really do hope you are having a beautiful week dear!

  • http://muchlove-anna.blogspot.com Anna

This is a great post. I love your images, and how clever that they can be clicked to pop-up! Hehe, I’m impressed.
I like based-on-true-story movies too. Oh, you most definitely should show us your own project! and your matchbox collection ;)

Et vous savez le mot en français pour ‘matchbox’? Moi je ne sais pas :( ! En tout cas, il est très mignon ton ‘matchbox’ ;)

My parents have a huge collection of matchboxes lying around somewhere. I should look for it. They are very cool.

Thank you for te mention Miriam — and wow! Awesome post! Hedi Slimane — I know he’s someone special because Karl Largerfeld said he lost all his weight in order to fit into his clothes — he must be the best then!! Black and white photos = love and French cinema = La Nouvelle Vague paticularly!

  • http://danielsgraphiclife.blogspot.com Daniel J.

Many thanks for tagging me. :) I feel so honoured! So, check out my blog…I’ve just made a post about it haha. I love Hedi Slimane’s photography as well. His portfolio is huuuuge and looks very good. :) I also like the pic of you making a very weird dancing-move. Can’t wait to see it in real life. Muuwahaha.
